My family and I moved to Havelock in June 2007. We moved from Montgomery County, NC to be near the beach. During the month of July, we had a thunderstorm the first week of that month which produced 4.66 inches or rain in two hours with considerable flooding on our street. On the third week of July, a thunderstorm produced another 3.60 inches of rain with more flooding. With other showers recorded, a total of 9.78 inches of rain fell during July, 2007.

Meanwhile, at my home in Montgomery county, less than an inch fell in July and the temperature reached 110 two times which is the highest ever recorded on any of my thermometers and I am 67 years old.
